Return Window

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 calendar days after receiving your order to request a return. This policy applies globally to all markets, in addition to your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal in the European Union.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, items must be unused, unworn, with all tags attached, and in their original packaging. Please include your order number and proof of purchase.

How to Start a Return (RMA Required)

Because Smiling Maria works with multiple fulfillment partners and suppliers, return addresses may vary depending on the origin of the shipment.

To start a return, you MUST contact us first at info@smilingmaria.com with your order number and the reason for return.
We will provide your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and a prepaid return label.

If you send a parcel back without contacting us and without an RMA number, processing may be significantly delayed and it may be more difficult for us to locate your parcel. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have under local law.

Return Shipping Costs

1. Global Free Return Guarantee

For all returns globally – including change-of-mind (e.g. wrong size, not as expected) and defective itemsreturn shipping is paid by the merchant (us). We will provide a prepaid return label.

2. Customs & International Handling (Important for non-EU customers)

Since we provide the prepaid return label, customers are NOT responsible for any customs forms, import duties, taxes, or declarations required for the return to our global return hub. We manage all international procedures and costs. Your sole responsibility is to place the product in the provided shipping package and hand it over to the carrier.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us immediately if any item is defective, damaged or incorrect, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right as quickly as possible.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, certain items cannot be returned once opened or used, including (where permitted by local law):

Personalized or custom-made items

Sealed personal-care or hygiene products (e.g. lingerie, swimwear, earrings, cosmetics) once opened/unsealed

Hazardous materials, flammable liquids or gases

If you are unsure whether a specific product is returnable, please contact us before ordering.

Sale Items and Gift Cards

Discounted or promotional items are still eligible for return within 30 days as long as they meet the same condition standards. Gift cards are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Exchanges

The fastest way to exchange an item is to return the original item first. Once the return is accepted, you can place a new order for the replacement item.

EU Right of Withdrawal

If your order is delivered within the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without providing a reason. To exercise this right, please contact info@smilingmaria.com. We cover the return shipping cost and provide a prepaid label, regardless of the reason for return.

Refunds and Timeline

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Please note that your bank or payment provider may require additional time to complete the transaction. If more than 15 business days have passed since you received your refund approval notice, please contact us at info@smilingmaria.com.

Restocking Fees

We do not charge any restocking fees.
